Change first sentence in the lead section

[edit]

The description is very confusing for the average leader. Usually, when describing a country, we use simply language like:

The United States of America is a country located in North America.

However, in this article, the first sentence described a lot of things about the country, even though it could be simply put as:

Vatican City, officially the Vatican City State (Italian: Stato della Città del Vaticano; Latin: Status Civitatis Vaticanae), is a country enclave surrounded by Italy.

I agree that the description of "landlocked sovereign country, city-state, microstate, and enclave surrounded by, and historically a part of, Rome, Italy." is correct, but it could be put in the second sentence.

I propose that we change the first two sentences to:

Vatican City, officially the Vatican City State (Italian: Stato della Città del Vaticano; Latin: Status Civitatis Vaticanae), is a country enclave surrounded by Italy. It is a landlocked sovereign country, city-state, and microstate that was historically a part of Rome, Italy.
